  • Overview

    This role must perform with the highest level of professionalism relating to the classification, exercise prescription and treatment of clientele. The Personal Trainer works with a variety of clients from low risk to extremely high risk, medically supervised clients. The level of skills and abilities of the clients ranges from professional athletes to individuals who have no familiarity with and no prior participation in athletic and/or physical training endeavors. Adherence to PRO’s core values and our mission statement is expected and is critical to the success of the PRO Sports Club Fitness department.

     

     

     

    Responsibilities

    - Assists in assuring the fitness areas safe including responsibility to be first responder in case of any form of emergency
    - Assist in assuring that the fitness areas are show ready
    - Must perform the job of Fitness Specialist when assigned
    - Maintains the highest quality of customer service
    - Adheres to scheduled responsibilities including attending mandatory department meeting
    - Possess all necessary basic skills at time of application for position
    - Provide fitness testing and assessment using a variety of protocols
    - Evaluate health questionnaires for potential risk factors
    - Design and implement personalized fitness programs
    - Instruct clients on proper exercise techniques
    - Instruction on basic nutrition
    - Track client progress through exercise files, charts, and retesting
    - Be supportive of and available to 20/20 Lifestyles department. Maintain at least 1 20/20 client
    - Develop strong working relationships with PRO Dietitian and Physical Therapy departments
    - Be aware of emergency procedures and be ready to perform CPR and First Aid
    - Participate in continuing education to keep information and certifications current
    - Willing to support Bellevue or Seattle when called upon including subbing or accepting shifts, classes or appointments, and extending policies, procedures, programs and the PRO culture at both locations

    Qualifications

    - Absent exceptional circumstances to be determined by PRO Sports, a 4 year degree in Exercise Science or related studies is required
    - ACSM-HFI or NSCA-CSCS (preferred), ACE-PT, or acceptable national certification is required
    - Acceptance into 20/20 Lifestyles certification program required, and successful completion of program required within first year of position
    - Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification required (From either Red Cross or American Heart Association)
    - 1-2 years experience in a health club environment preferred
    - Experience in marketing and promotions preferred
    - Some nutritional education preferred
